Harold B. Epp, LL.B

Harold Epp is the co-founder of Friesen and Epp. Harold was admitted to British Columbia Bar in 1977. Harold previously received his PhD in English Literature from the University of California. Thereafter, he was dragged from the gentle world of Academe into the hurly burly of the law, whose challenges he thoroughly enjoys, and from which he can always escape to the pleasures of family and friends.

LEGAL EXPERIENCE

Wills: Preparing wills, Enduring Powers of Attorney and representation agreements for health care, trusts, and estate planning.

Estates: Preparing documents necessary to obtain Letters Probate or Letters of Administration, assisting with transmissions, assisting with administration and accounting.

Real Estate Law: Including purchase and sale contracting, construction contracting, purchase and sale completions, residential lending and security including mortgage security.

Companies: Incorporation, company records management, sale and purchase of businesses, restoration, dissolution of companies, shareholders’ agreements. Societies such as the War Amps, the Mennonite Central Committee, Children’s Haven International, as well as a variety of other charities in estate matters.

Harold served for almost a decade as a Canada Pension Review Tribunal chairman, and in that capacity learned much about the challenges of acting with understanding and compassion in making life affecting decisions for persons afflicted by disabilities.

Harold is the proud father of two sons and three grandchildren, and spends as much time as possible with them, enjoying their Little League experiences, their after school play, and their holidays, teaching them to flyfish, to swim, and to get along with one another. Other hobbies include gardening and wood-working.
